Dear Mr. Hottendorf,

Thank you for your interest in obtaining my thoughts.

As a homeowner, taxpayer and successful small business owner, I feel this is a very important issue for our City.

I applaud the recent work of the council, owners and tenants association on their hard work to try to right some of the most egregious wrongs in the previous rent control regulations.

There is still much work to do. I believe we need to take a hard look at the newly passed ordinance and evaluate it's effectiveness on a regular basis to make sure it is fair to homeowners, taxpayers and tenants.

Reducing unnecessary government paperwork is important to an efficient economy, so I would tend to support such measures.

I am open to the your suggestions in your letter and would be sure to strongly consider them when I am elected councilman for the 5th Ward.
