Rent control in the City of Hoboken should have been looked at periodically since it's inception. As we know this City has evolved since and will continue to evolve. Rent control is not necessarily good for small property owners, for existing tenants or for that matter young professionals who look for this City as becoming homeowners. For existing tenants you will most likely find investors to buy 1 and 4 family homes and convert them to condos. The changes that have recently been enacted should solve this problem but if it doesn’t I will work toward finding a solution for both the small homeowner and their tenants.
